« Confiance, lève-toi, il t'appelle » (Mc 10, 49)
Tandis que Jésus sortait de Jéricho avec ses disciples et une foule nombreuse, un mendiant aveugle, Bartimée, le fils de Timée, était assis au bord de la route. Apprenant que c’était Jésus de Nazareth, il se mit à crier : « Jésus, fils de David, aie pitié de moi ! » Beaucoup de gens l’interpellaient vivement pour le faire taire, mais il criait de plus belle : « Fils de David, aie pitié de moi ! »
Jésus s’arrête et dit : « Appelez-le. » On appelle donc l’aveugle, et on lui dit : « Confiance, lève-toi ; il t’appelle. »
L’aveugle jeta son manteau, bondit et courut vers Jésus. Jésus lui dit : « Que veux-tu que je fasse pour toi ? – Rabbouni, que je voie. » Et Jésus lui dit : « Va, ta foi t’a sauvé. »
Aussitôt l’homme se mit à voir, et il suivait Jésus sur la route.
Confiance, lève-toi, il t'appelle
Trois mots percutants. Quand on n'a plus de regard, quand on n'est plus qu'un mendiant de reconnaissance et d'amour. Quand on n'a plus que le cri pour être quelqu'un au-delà de sa nuit sans fin. Soudain, un mouvement de foule vous ébranle. Au-delà de la souffrance qui vous cloue à terre, une espérance s'insinue dans la faille de l'armure entrouverte par quelqu'un. Ce quelqu'un vient, saura-t-il vous voir ? Saura-t-il me voir? Saura-t-il me reconnaître autrement que cette foule qui m'enferme dans ma mendicité et ma cécité ?
Finalement, ne serait-ce pas la foule qui est aveugle ? Sait-elle qu'elle accompagne le Fils ? Et si j'osais me laisser regarder par le Fils, moi qui ne peux regarder ? Vais-je enfin pouvoir contempler la lumière ? Ma seule ressource est le cri.
Le cri, ce n'est pas la parole, c'est une bouteille jetée dans la mer du désespoir. Sera-t-elle récupérée ? La foule couvre ce cri, elle se fait écran, mais l'espoir est plus fort... L'espoir, si souvent déçu, resurgit au plus profond de l'âme et ne peut être tu. Tant de cris ont déjà été étouffés car troublant notre quiétude et notre confort apparent. Ce cri va enfin être reçu par Celui qui criera tous nos désespoirs et nos abandons sur cette croix où l'innocence et la dignité sont bafouées. Le cri est reçu et la foule en est retournée. Elle se penche enfin vers celui qui est assis et qui attend l'heure de la délivrance. D'écran, la foule se fait relais de la Parole qui relève.
CONFIANCE, le mot est lâché. Il ne pourra plus être enfouie par celui qui le reçoit. Il est le don de l'énergie pour s'ouvrir à la grâce qui va vous relever et vous rendre votre dignité. La confiance va restaurer l'image perdue par tant de luttes et de mépris , de rejet.... La confiance va permettre à la deuxième invitation de se réaliser.
LEVE-TOI, enfin le moment est venu de se mettre en route. L'espoir d'un but est enfin advenu. La vie va tenir sa promesse, ma nuit n'est pas sans fin, je vais bientôt apercevoir la lumière. Se lever, c'est consentir à la vie, c'est vouloir combattre les forces de mort qui veulent s'emparer de moi. Se lever, c'est devenir disciple de Celui qui me met debout pour accueillir la vraie vie. Se lever c'est me ré-accueillir telle l que je suis : un être aimé, appeler à aimer.
IL T'APPELLE. Sans confiance et sans vie, comment puis-je accueillir cette interpellation inouïe. L'appel du maître de la vie nous convoque au meilleur de la vie. Il nous appelle à (re)donner le meilleur de ce qu'il nous à donner pour nos frères. La vie devient plus forte que la mort qui nous clouait au sol. L'Appel me conduit à demeurer mendiante. Je deviens mendiante de la vie de mes frères. Je suis appelée à permettre à mes frères de s'ouvrir à cette vie que mon cri a permis de faire jour et de les appeler comme moi à la vraie louange de celui qui nous a tout donné.
Encore aujourd'hui, par la médiation de l'Eglise, le Seigneur continue d'appeler à la vraie vie les hommes , les femmes , les jeunes de notre temps. Saurons-nous entendre Jésus nous dire
« appelez-le » ?
Cet appel débouchera sur la confiance et mettra en route des personnes paralysées par tant de souffrances, de doutes, de désespoirs , de manque de confiance en la vie. Ainsi nous serons porteurs de vie si nous nous faisons obéissants à l'appel du Christ à jamais vivant. Oui la foi peut sauver et conduire des hommes et des femmes , des jeunes sur le chemin de la vie. « Jésus dit : « Va, ta foi ta sauvé. » Aussitôt il retrouva la vue et il suivit Jésus sur le chemin ».
SUR LA ROUTE: Comme Bartimée au bord de la route, nous sommes assis, alors que la vie marche à côté de nous....mettons nous debout...Il est vivant Celui qui nous relève....Et c'est vraiment une bonne nouvelle : « confiance, lève-toi : il t'appelle ». Il ne suffit pas de le dire, il faut aider l'autre à se lever, à se mettre debout, à retrouver sa dignité d'homme, de femme, de jeune.... pour repartir à la rencontre du Sauveur.
Tout en sachant que chacun de nous peut devenir aveugle et se mettre à crier « Jésus, aie pitié de moi ».
Malgré la nuit de ses yeux, Bartimée est le seul qui soit clairvoyant.
Ceux qui veulent le faire taire sont les véritables aveugles. Lui seul proclame que Jésus est le Fils de David, c’est-à-dire le Messie ou Christ. Sa foi le sauve.
Comme disciple, il va suivre Jésus « sur la route »
....suivre Jésus sur la route...la route du quotidien , quotidien de nos rencontres, de nos choix, de nos désirs , de nos luttes, de nos échecs, de nos efforts pour bâtir un monde meilleur ....forts de notre foi..."sauvés"
Quand Jésus passe, c’est vraiment le moment de crier
La venue de Jésus sur le chemin où Bartimée a l’habitude de mendier est une chance extraordinaire pour ce dernier. Il ne veut pas la manquer : rien, ni personne, ne le fera taire !
Jésus s’est arrêté bien des fois devant des gens meurtris dans leur corps ou dans leur âme. Il les accueille, les réconforte, les guérit et les rétablit pleinement au milieu des autres.
Quand Jésus passe, c’est vraiment le moment de crier. Pour lui, c’est toujours le moment de s’arrêter quand un homme souffre, alors que tant de voix veulent étouffer les cris et les appels.
La foi est une rencontre avec Jésus qui appelle. Pour aller vers lui, il ne faut pas se laisser arrêter par les obstacles. Plus encore, comme l’aveugle qui lâche son manteau et bondit vers Jésus, il s’agit de laisser tout ce qui nous empêche d’aller vers le Christ (soucis, occupations diverses…blessures...).
La question de Jésus :
« Que veux-tu que je fasse pour toi ? »
peut sembler inutile à celui qui a crié : « Fils de David, aie pitié de moi ! » Mais elle est le signe de l’établissement d’une vraie relation entre eux. Jésus n’est pas un guérisseur. Il est celui à qui on s’attache par la foi.
Après avoir été guéri, Bartimée devient disciple de Jésus et le suit sur la route de Jérusalem, celle de la croix. C’est avec des pécheurs et des infirmes que Jésus constitue un peuple de croyants qui voudront le suivre.
Nous pouvons reprendre avec foi le cri de l’aveugle vers Jésus : « Jésus, aie pitié de nous ! » "Jésus aie pitié de moi"
Seigneur, ouvre nos oreilles aux cris
de tous ceux qui n'y voient plus.
Donne-nous la force d'aller leur dire
que Tu les aimes.
